Taggs Caravan Park, Skegness

We stayed at Taggs Caravan Park, a short walk into Skegness Town, for a two-night break as a stopover for our next destination.

The site is predominantly a static holiday home park; however, they do have some touring pitches available, we stayed on a grass electric pitch. If you are looking for a quiet holiday park without the hustle and bustle of a larger holiday park, this could be for you.

There is a toilet and shower block (shower tokens are required and are 50p each which gives you approx. 5 minutes). The toilet and shower blocks are old but serviceable and clean.

On-site there is Tunny’s Tavern which opens in the evenings and gives the feeling of a local pub, with both an area for families and adults only. The family area is spacious and has a pool table (children are allowed to play), a couple of coin operated rides and a sweet shop. There is entertainment on selected nights in the adult room, you can hear the music in the family room too so win win all round. The big plus point of Tunny’s Tavern is the very friendly staff, they make you feel very welcome even if you are there for a short break. There is a play park just outside Tunny’s Tavern and you can see the children playing from inside (bonus!) or if the weather is nice, there are a few picnic benches outside too.

A big plus point to this caravan park is its location to Skegness town centre, it is walkable along a flat pavement and can be reached in approx. 15 minutes. Once in town, there is plenty to see and do with shops, amusements, fun fair, beach, pubs and restaurants. There is also a selection of supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons and Lidl all within easy walking distance. If you don’t fancy cooking one night, Pizza Hut is located directly across the road from the caravan park too.

All in all, if you are looking for a no-frills holiday park with a touring caravan or motorhome that is close to plenty of amenities, we would highly recommend this place to stay.
