August 2022
*Please note, this Holiday Park is being taken over by Haven in 2023.
If you love a seaside holiday, this is the place to be for a family-fun holiday with plenty of activities and entertainment for all of the family to enjoy.
When we choose a place to stay, we like a variety of facilities, sometimes with plenty of entertainment for non-stop fun and sometimes a place that is quiet where we can relax and we can enjoy the great outdoors. Richmond Holiday Centre is definitely the first of these two options, having plenty on offer such as a show bar, a tavern serving food, a restaurant, a swimming pool, amusement arcades, a day & evening activity/entertainment programme, a play area and much more…
We had such a fun time at Richmond Holiday Centre and enjoyed the range of day time activities on offer which included family bingo, a reptile show, science show and a family quiz. In the evening, there was an array of entertainment from tribute singers/bands to pantomimes. Every evening there is bingo (18+), followed by kid’s party dances and a chance for the kids to meet the characters. After this an act follows. We saw some great shows including Jungle Book pantomime, UV Scare Show, Eurythmics tribute, Ed Sheeran tribute, Michael Jackson tribute and Jo-Jo Siwa tribute. There was something for anyone, any age, to enjoy.
The swimming pool complex is good, a very large rectangle swimming pool with a shallow and deep end, there are morning and afternoon sessions available. Some of the pool is blocked off for lane swimmers and the rest is for families to enjoy. There is an inflatable assault course session on daily for children aged 8+ (and must be able to swim), at no extra cost! Sadly, no adults are allowed on the inflatables but our children really enjoyed this and there is a viewing area for parents/guardians.
The Holiday Centre has static holiday homes for hire but also a field for tourers and trailer tents. The touring field is a good size, the pitch sizes are very spacious with plenty of room between you and your neighbours. There is a toilet and shower block that offer a dressing area and lovely, warm showers (they are a push button type so be prepared to press the button every few seconds!), we never had to queue at any time of the day which is a big plus point. The touring field is located at the back of the site, please be aware that the field is not close to the play area so little ones will need to be accompanied.
Richmond Holiday Centre is within walking distance of plenty of places including Skegness Town Centre, the beach, a splash park, Pleasure Beach fun fair, Skegness Aquarium, amusement arcades, crazy golf, boating lake, supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. Further afield, either a drive or bus ride away, you will find Fantasy Island Theme Park & Market, a Circus, Garden Centres, Natureland Seal Sanctuary, Ingoldmells Village, Car Boots, Wolds Wildlife Park and plenty more. We visited many of the above places and would recommend a trip to them all if you get the chance.
All in all, we would highly recommend at stay at Richmond Holliday Centre and would love to return again soon. Whilst we were there, we heard rumours that they were changing hands over to Haven in 2023. This appears to have now happened as bookings are being taken on the Haven website. They don’t appear to be taking bookings for tourers/tents just yet but have announced this will be coming soon for the 2023 season. All the above was written at the time of our visit in August 2022 and may change once the park changes to Haven officially in 2023.
Thank you for a great stay Richmond Holiday Centre!
